Open Stamping Sunday - Easel Card

Tomorrow is Open Stamping at my house!  This month we will make an easel card.  I don't know why I've put this off for SO long - I was intimidated by it (but it was actually very easy).  There are dozens of tutorials out there so I won't even try to do a better one.  I used the sentiment on the inside - lifted on pop-dots - to be the "card-stop" for the easel.  The papers are the new Close to My Heart You Rock, and the images are in the new catalog, Springtime, while the sentiment is retired, I do believe.  Too bad, as this new set is perfect with this Bob Dylan quote!

It's Saturday.  I made it to Yoga this week and while it's much harder than before the knee problems and somewhat frustrating - I am making progress.  I just need more patience.  (deep breath, let it out slowly).  I know I'm doing a world of good for myself because I slept 10 hours last night without even moving - woke up in the same position I fell asleep in.  And feeling quite refreshed. :-)

I've got tons to do to get ready for tomorrow afternoon (laundry, shopping, cleaning, setting up tables, etc. etc.) so I'll get off the computer now.  Hope you have a terrific weekend!

You might have to cry "UNCLE"!

Gosh!  I'm LOVING the February Stamp of The Month and all the variations I can do on Happy Birthday! I guess it would also be good for an anniversary, or wedding cake - but I'm at that point where birthday cards are the most needed!  This card - still all Close-to-My-Heart stuff except for the silk ribbon and the buttons.  This paper is from Sweet Home.

Another busy, crazy week for me.  I had hoped to get to bed early tonight, but no-dice.  Anyway - it's good to take a moment to post and glance at what you've all been up to lately.  I will come back to visit your blogs and post comments - because everything I'm seeing is amazing and inspiring . . .

Thanks!

Still having fun with Cake!

I only got a couple of hours today in the craft room - not nearly enough!  But, hey, you take what you can get and "smile"!  I do like this card!  It's kind-of "funky".

I don't know about you, but I'm wishing for another day off.  I had a great weekend, just not long enough.  Yesterday I upgraded the RAM on my computer (all by myself, thank you very much!) and I can't tell you how excited I was when I turned it on and checked the properties - and saw the new number right there in front of me!!!  The next thing that happened was even better!  I started realizing that everything I was doing (opening windows, typing, loading photos, downloading photos, etc.) was happening in a FLASH!  OMG this computer is so stinkin' fast now!!!  YIPPEEE!!

Well, I'm toddling off to bed - I need my beauty sleep before the new week begins.  Hope you have a good Monday!

Another February Stamp of The Month

Happy Thursday!  Tomorrow is one of my favorite days!!!  FRIDAY!
I'm planning to work, go to Yoga, pick up green curry, and r-e-l-a-x at home visiting all my blog friends!

This card is another one I made while playing with the current stamp of the month.  Only the "dew drops" were something other than CTMH product!  I simply colored the image with my markers and stamped the sentiment with Chocolate ink.  Add a piece of the wonderful new Topstitch papers and we're done!

Have a wonderful Friday!
Hugs!!

February Stamp of The Month

Let me tell you, I had a chance to use the new February Close to My Heart Stamp of the Month  and you will not want to miss this one!!  This set is just SO much fun to use!!! It seems like it will go with everything!  I've paired it here with one of my all-time favorite papers, Silhouette.  All CTMH products, too.

I just got home from Yoga - another good practice where I made some progress.  I love that I will sleep good tonight!!!  Tomorrow I am in a training class all day - which is a blessing, actually!  It's a required training, that usually costs me $300 to take, but this year is being offered by a local consulting firm for their "good customers".   All I needed was to be granted an education day!

Hope you have a Wonderful Wednesday.

I made something!!!

A huge hooray for getting "bitten" by the bug!  I owe this card to Melissa Phillips - her card (here) reminded me of a technique I'd long forgotten - and this card was born out of playing around with it!  I was so excited to get into the craft room that I left all my chores half done!  But boy, does it feel good to make something again!

It was a gorgeous day here (I hope I don't sound like I'm gloating - I'm just thankful) and I spent a good hour this evening puttering in the garden.  It's 7 and I'm waiting for dinner to be ready - the evening is here and tomorrow is work for me.

Quick hello -

Nothing too exciting to share - except that Yoga is getting easier (a bit) and I'm so happy about the memorabilia from my Dad.  I'm upgrading my computer RAM and buying a new scanner - so hopefully by next weekend I'll be able to start scanning some of the treasures I've found!  I'm loving everything you are posting - and starting to get a little nostalgic for my stamping room (the first signs of recovery from "lost mojo"?) - perhaps!

I'm still here . . .

Just a note to let you know I'm still here . . . I have misplaced my mojo and hope to find it soon!  In the meanwhile, I've been getting back into Yoga and tonight, the most exciting thing - I opened 3 enormous boxes of photos, scrapbooks, papers and military memorabilia that belonged to my Dad.  My step-mom sent them to me, and I've been overwhelmed by it . . .

I will need to spend months getting to know all  of these things!  Some I recognize from my childhood - some are new to me.  Precious treasures - all of it!  Perhaps I will be able to make some progress on his heritage album?  It is strange, but I feel like some part of him is here now.

Another "birthday" card!

True confessions, this was not a "new" card but rather the prototype card for a swap from about a year ago.  I don't think I've posted it before - if I have, please forgive me!  I mentioned on Tuesday I needed two birthday cards in a "flash" - this was the second one!  While I hated to say good-bye, I did get a decent photo of it so if I ever need to make another one . . . (do you get "attached" to your cards???  I think I need help!)

This is a close up of the butterfly -
I stamped the butterfly first directly on the green background & texture paper, then again on cardstock.  The top image was cut out and the wings propped up with a "wad" of glue dot!  It really works great, I must say!

So - GREAT NEWS!  I saw the surgeon yesterday and he cleared me for some Yoga!  We went over a Yoga anatomy book that I had brought, reviewed about 7 poses to see if they would be allowed.  There were two that he said "No!" but the others were either , "Yes" or "Try it".  I went to Yoga class tonight.  It was difficult - harder than I expected.  I've lost a lot of strength in my core, in my arms, and my legs (especially my right one)!  I still can't tolerate kneeling or even the prone positions where there is pressure on the knee cap- but it will come with time.   Tonight I stretched, and moved, and balanced (still great at balance poses) and focused my attention on my breath and my mat.  I honored the news from my sad body - and we were at peace.  I feel so relaxed and grounded.  I know I will sleep like a ROCK tonight (still in the same position when I awake)!  And I promise to not bore you with weekly updates, but I know in my heart that each week I will quickly gain in strength.  I will be back to where I was before the injury.  Oh my dear friends, this is such a milestone for me!!!

Basic Grey = Urban Prairie

I needed two birthday cards in a flash tonight, so it didn't seem TOO awfully silly to stamp "Happy Birthday to you" inside this one!  It's true - I am thankful for this dear friend . . .

It's Tuesday already!  I have been very busy - in a good way, I guess.  I've gotten lots accomplished and am getting stronger (the knee) every day so that I almost don't even think about it any more!  Yippee!!!  I had such a fun day Sunday when my friends were over to scrap - we laughed and carried on all afternoon!

Hope your week is going great!  I see my surgeon on Thursday and please, cross your fingers that I will be sitting on my Yoga mat Friday night.  I want to be there.

Namaste.
