I was SO behind on my event planner! I use mine for Birthdays - and those were entered (the ones I know about!) but the September and October headers were not done yet. If I can, I'd like to finish out the year tonight - but we'll see how much energy I can muster.
The September one is a "back-to-school" theme using the Delight in Everything papers and the September word puzzle. The October is just the October word puzzle, but I used the Caprice paper pack and actually paper pieced the pumpkin and the candy corn! Cool, huh! All Close-to-My-Heart products.
This weekend has been very helpful - I've been able to nap when I can, fiddle around on the computer when I can't sleep - keep quiet and get to know my ice pack better. We're becoming reluctant friends. Hope you've had a lovely weekend, too!
Sometimes we need a nice sympathy card. This time I didn't want it to be too "sad" looking - so I chose the pretty colors. It's still "serious" but just not too somber. In a way, I cased my own card for this one. About 3 months ago I was inspired by another artist and created this card.
Work was great today - lots to do and all very productive. My evening has flown by way too fast. Tomorrow I am thrilled to be attending a special recognition event for employees who have had the privilege of being employed at my workplace for "landmark" years. I'm in the lowest category - which might explain why I still pinch myself every day on the way to work just to be sure I'm not dreaming that I got this fantastic job! It will be nice - they always do things nice. What a great way to slide into the weekend!

My friend Jone did this card, isn't the owl adorable?! I love everything about it and just wanted to share with you. See the liquid glass on some of the leaves? And the owl's eyes are green sparkles?! I do believe she used a "puddle pad" to stamp the branch and leaves those different colors . . . Jone is very talented. She just started stamping recently but she's been an artist all her life!
Today? I finally slept last night - slept so well I overslept 45 minutes! I was only 5 minutes late to work. Now I call that AMAZING! I'm tired again now so off to bed.
ps - please keep Jake in your prayers. She's got the dreaded "muhungus". (i.e. flu)

Hello Friends! It's Tuesday night and you know where I should be? At Yoga, of course. But I've done something to my knee and needed a break - I've been trying to not whine about it - because you don't come here for the whining. I'm sure I'll be good as new before we know it!
About this card - It was inspired by someone, and they used smaller stamps (another brand) and beautiful "page from a book" paper behind the focal image. I went with Caprice papers and the Close to My Heart Spooky Smiles stamps - what fun these images are!!! Hope you like it!?!

This was my attempt at a masculine birthday card! It was for the son of a dear friend, who turned 21 (yikes!). The gift card was for coffee (not alcohol, LOL). It's all Close-to-My Heart product except the silver brads - I picked those up on a clearance table in a scrapbook store in Albuquerque, NM last summer. What you can't see is that the wavy gray piece is pop-dotted up 1/8". The paper is "Game On" and the stamps are "Happy Birthday" and "Card Commentary".
Our weekend weather has been just gorgeous! This time of year I remember why I live here. It was really fun - from 7 AM to 7 PM to be outside! I tidy-ed up the yard (raked leaves and trash from under the bushes) and watered here and there, and pulled weeds . . . it just felt good to be in the sun and fresh air and not be HOT.

From the 12 o'clock position, the 3 1/2 x 8 Sweet home card is mine, the one on a yellow background with the cozy fireplace below it was created by Melinda Flax. At the 5 o'clock position, the Grace card with the silhouettes and the one with the natures vein leaf are mine. The Twitterpated card in the middle of the board (slightly left) is Kris Massey's and the little 3x3 is Jen Coleman's. Lower left hand corner is the Jingle Creative Basics paper displayed by Jen Coleman, and in the upper left hand corner is the Jingle paper card by Joanne Zubal. I have the best unit sisters in the world - don't you agree!?! Naturally - everything is CTMH and from the new catalog! About me? We're working our tails off (not noticeably - it has occurred to me, as my pants are harder to zip these days!). I guess I mean that "figuratively". LOL I'm certainly ready for bed in the evenings!
