Note: The card base is not pink - I'm just a terrible photographer!
This will be the technique card for my Open Stamping group tomorrow! I started with a 5" x 10" card base scored and folded at 5". (Daisy White cardstock). I positioned a scalloped rectangle on just the front part of the card base.
Using the CTMH ink color GLACIER and a sponge, I added ink to the scalloped rectangle that was cut out. Then I stamped two butterflies from the Chelsea Gardens Card Making kit using Momento Black ink. Once the ink was completely dry, I colored the butterflies with the Shin-Han alcohol ink markers. I put the piece back into the front slot - and added double-sided foam tape to the back of just the rectangle. When I closed the card, the rectangle adhered to the inside, yet was tight enough to hold the card closed when it was folded.
The small butterfly on the front was stamped on a die cut and finished in the same manner. The stem of leaves was also stamped on a die cut and colored with Shin Han marker. A zip-strip, or a 1/2" piece cut from one of the design papers, was used to create a narrow border line. Then the butterfly and leaves were adhered to the front edge that they overlapped taking care to not have adhesive hanging over onto the inside rectangle. A piece of narrow ribbon at the top - and sentiments (included in the card making kit) were added. Lastly, I went back over all three butterflies with the CTMH Shimmer Brush (like the Clear Wink-O-Stella). This should be a fun project!!
